Manchester City travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle on Saturday lunchtime looking to close the gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The champions beat Chelsea last weekend but still find themselves nine points off Jurgen Klopp’s Reds after 13 matches played.

Newcastle, meanwhile, are out to bounce back from their poor performance against Aston Villa on Monday night.

Steve Bruce’s side have started the season better than a lot of people expected, currently sitting 14th in the league, having won back-to-back games before their 2-1 loss to Villa.
